About Us
Paul Allen is originally from the U.K. He started his carpentry apprenticeship with a local builder in his hometown of Yorkshire and after six years of finish and rough carpentry in the housing industry, he soon discovered that he had a desire and talent for cabinetry. His first venture was at a local cabinet/wood shop making fixtures and fittings for retail stores. For the next 10 years, he found himself gaining experience in all aspects of the residential building industry across the U.K. It was in 1986 that Paul decided to take a 3-month vacation to San Diego that ended up being a permanent move. With the quality and craftsmanship that he learned in England, he quickly found work with a local cabinet shop in Carlsbad and stayed with the company for 3 years. He then decided to start his own cabinet business, White Rose Construction. With a wife and new family, Paul closed his shop after 3 years and moved on to work for San Diego Kitchen & Bath as an installer. Soon after, he was promoted to Project Manager.
Unfortunately San Diego Kitchen & Bath closed their doors and Paul moved on to become project manager with Lars Construction. After spending over five years with two large residential remodeling companies, Paul felt the desire to start Allen Remodel, bringing with him the experience of over 500 residential projects ranging from kitchens and bathrooms to room additions.
